No Contract To Sign.

Almost all tutoring agencies require you to sign a legal contract which requires you to pay the total amount for that specified contract period.

If you are not satisfied with the tutor or the program, you have no choice but to honor the contracted period of instruction.

We do not require you to sign a prepaid tutoring contract. You will only pay for the scheduled hours of tutoring that you receive from us. If you are unsatisfied with our program, you are free to cancel our services at no charge to you.

Does the same tutor work with your child each session?

No! Your child could have a different tutor each session. Are you comfortable with this. Would you be comfortable with a different teacher each day at your child's school?

When a students has multiple tutors, it is difficult for the next tutor to have a basic understanding of what transpired in the last tutoring session. A tutor, just like a teacher, needs to know their students strengths and weaknesses in order to understand what methods of instruction to implement.

Do you know that most of the tutors at most local tutoring agencies make anywhere from $11 TO $13 PER HOUR????

Call some local tutoring agencies and ask them what the fees are for their tutoring programs. Upon obtaining these fees, find out how many hours of tutoring are involved in your contracted program, and how many students per tutor.

Now divide the total fees by $12.00. NOW, you will see what you are paying for:

1. Rent

2. Utilities

3. Director's salary

4. Etc.

If the individual tutor only receives $12 per hour, where does the rest of the money go?

We charge a basic $25 per 1.5 hour session (or $18 per 60 minute session, $30 per120 minute session), and we come to your home or local library at the hours that fit your busy schedule.

( A $5 travel fee may apply depending on your location)

(A $10 travel fee for any requests that are not within the area that we serve)

We service N. Fulton, E. Gwinnette, S. Forsyth, and NW Dekalb Counties.

Did you know that when you sign a contract at Sylvan Learning Centers, your child's tutoring sessions are not one-on-one. Each tutor is assigned three students at the same time. Now if you are paying $50 per hour, and three students are assigned to that one tutor, this means that Sylvan is earning $150 per hour minus the $12 that they pay the tutor for a profit of $138 per hour!!

If you feel that more expensive is better, then by all means, we will encourage you to follow that particular program.

The curriculum, which is implemented during your child's tutoring session, is accessible to you after the completion of each tutoring session.

Our curriculum is a Computer Based Training, allowing your child to be drilled and instructed by the tutorial programs online.

You will always have access to these tutorial programs, even if you discontinue our services.

1. We will visit your home or local library to discuss your child's needs.

THIS CONSULTATION IS FREE

2. We will encourage all family members to take part in this discussion concerning your child's academic needs . If you feel that we will be able to help your child, then your child must submit to an online assessment exam to determine his/her strengths and weaknesses.

3. We will then guide you to access a link on the Internet upon which your child will be required to submit to an online assessment tool that will evaluate your child's strengths and weaknesses in all the core subject areas. THIS ASSESSMENT TOOL IS FREE!.

4. After your child completes this assessment tool, you will press the submit button and instantly, you will receive an analysis of you child's skills in the core subject areas. This analysis will be used to create a tutorial program for your child. AT THIS POINT AND TIME, YOU HAVE NOT GIVEN US ANY MONEY!

5. We will use these results to create an individualized tutorial program for your child.

6. When our tutoring sessions begin, you will be charge for our services, $18 per hour, $25 per 1.5 hours, or, $30 per 2 hour session.
